We are getting there……
Today, Andre and I finally put up the skeleton frame for the walipini. After weeks of shoveling sand to carve out a decent-sized growing area, I can honestly say—it's not my favorite part of starting a ranch. But hey, it’s done! We even moved in some terracotta pots to help with humidity.
And today! Today we tackled the fencing trellis for the roof. Cue the comedy: Andre is tall, and I... am definitely not. So when it came to holding things up high, I wasn’t exactly the MVP. Instead, I took on the important roles—photographer, math whiz, and tool-holder extraordinaire.
Andre was also very excited about driving the truck today. We spent a good chunk of the day running around shopping for supplies, which honestly took more energy than I expected. Between that and hauling everything into place, we were pretty wiped by lunch.
We got most of the trellis done, even though our plan needed some on-the-fly adjusting. Between the kids’ school schedules and just being plain tired, progress has its own rhythm. But honestly, we made a lot happen. Fingers crossed we’ll wrap it up in the next week.
I’m excited though—we’re one step closer to getting the actual property up and running. It’s starting to feel real.
